London Esperanto Club Relocates

On 29th October 2004, the London Club held a party to celebrate its last evening at Drummond Street (Euston, London), where it had met for almost 70 years.

From 5th November 2005 [until May 2005], the club meets at Central YMCA, 112 Great Russell Street, WC1B 3NQ, London (nearest tube station: Tottenham Court Road; click here for a map).

[ Postscript: in May 2005 the London Esperanto Club moved again, and met every Friday 18:00 - 22:00, at the London Irish Centre, 50-52 Camden Square, Camden, London, NW1 9XB.]

[ Postscript: in Feb 2016 the London Esperanto Club moved again, with Friday meetings alternating between the Diorama arts centre, 201 Drummond Street, Regent's Place, London, NW1 3FE and at Hotel Ibis, 3 Cardington Street, Euston, London, NW1 2LW, on alternate Fridays.]

The club meets almost every Friday evening for a programme of lectures, talk, chat and courses - in Esperanto, of course! Club members (who don't have to live in London) also receive six issues of the club's bulletin each year. The club is one of the largest and most active local Esperanto groups in Britain, and has a history in London going back over a century.

For more information about the London Esperanto Club, its location and its current programme, visit the club's website. For security reasons at the YMCA, non-members who plan to visit the club need to let the organisers know in advance; see the website for contact details.
