2006 EAB Events

Here is an archive of the EAB events diary, for 2006.

2006-Jan-20 to 22: The Ni Festivalu weekend at Barlaston is the ideal occasion for any Esperantists who wish to organise a group meeting or activity to come along together and enjoy the on-site Esperanto atmosphere. The program includes a theatre workshop, studying Milito kaj Paco and Aŭtunaj Ventoj, a lecture, and practical sessions on writing and acting. 2006-Mar-17 to 18: EAB has a presence at the (Manchester) CILT Primary Languages Show presenting Esperanto and the Springboard project.

2006-Mar-31 to Apr-02: Young British Esperantists are invited to attend the Fiŝa Semajnfino (Fishy Weekend) organised by JEFO (Young French Esperantists) in Boulogne-sur-Mer. (Not organised by EAB.)

2006-April-28 to May-01: The 2006 British Esperanto Congress and EAB Annual General Meeting is at Green Gables Hotel, Scarborough. Our international guest lecturer is Atilio Rojas, Director of the Internacia Esperanto-Instituto in Den Haag.

2006-May-12 to 14: The SATEB annual residential weekend at the Wedgwood Memorial College, Barlaston, Stoke-on-Trent. Ed Borsboom, who recently wrote a biography "The Life of Andreo Cseh" will be giving talks in Esperanto about Cseh, and about "Lanti", the founder of the important workers' Esperanto movement, SAT. He knew both of them well. Details and application form are available from the college. There will also be a conversation group for those just learning. (Not organised by EAB)

2006-May-20: The North West Esperanto Federation's Spring Meeting is in Preston.

2006-Jun-02 to 05: The Scottish Esperanto Congress is at the Smith Institute in Stirling.

2006-Jul-06 to Aug-13: The 91st World Congress of Esperanto (Universala Kongreso) is in Florence, Italy. (Not organised by EAB, but EAB members can pay fees in Pounds Sterling through the EAB office.)

2006-Aug-06 to 13: Young British Esperantists are invited to attend the 62nd International Youth Congress in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. (Not organised by EAB.)

2006-Aug-12 to 18: The annual Esperanto Summer Festival at Wedgwood Memorial College, Barlaston; a range of activities for using, practising and studying Esperanto. For more details visit the Esperanto Education courses page. Help to support Britain's main Esperanto teaching event of the year, and polish up and enjoy your Esperanto at the same time!

2006-Aug-27: The Eastern Federation hold a picnic at Natton. Contact Roy Simmons (via the EAB office if necessary).

2006-Sep-22 to 25: The International Friendship Meeting (Internacia Amikeca Renkontiĝo is at Aylesford, Kent. Contact Anica Page (via the EAB office if necessary).

2006-Oct-07: The North-West Esperanto Federation's Autumn Meeting is at the Eaton Hotel, City Road, Chester. Contact Ian Mac Dowall (via the EAB office if necessary).

2006-Oct-20 to 22: Course-You-Can is a weekend course at for beginners and post-beginners at Wedgwood Memorial College, Barlaston. For more details visit the Esperanto Education courses page.

2006-Oct-28: The Eastern Federation meeting at Maldon includes a lecture by Terry Page. Contact Roy Simmons (via the EAB office if necessary).

2006-Nov-3 to 5: EAB has a stand at The Language Show, Olympia, London. EAB members received a free ticket (worth £10) with the October mailing of the EAB Update newsletter.

2006-Dec-02: The Eastern Federation hold their Christmas Fair at Ipswich. Contact Roy Simmons (via the EAB office if necessary).

Throughout the year: The London Esperanto Club meets (nearly) every Friday 18:00 - 22:00, at the London Irish Centre, 50-52 Camden Square, Camden, London, NW1 9XB. Many other local Esperanto groups hold regular or occasional events; visit their websites for more details.
